In honor of the men who worked to build Virginia State Parks, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation has opened a new museum at Pocahontas State Park, the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum. Historic photographs and personal mementos are carefully displayed in an original Civilian Conservation Corps building. Visitors may learn about the dedication and sacrifice in the words and letters of the men whose contributions will last forever. Museum hours vary seasonally.
The park is open from dawn to dusk year-round. The campground is open March 1 through the first Sunday in December.
